The Wedding Adventure
This is the first time I've attempted to write a game and this is a choose-your-own-path style.
You are a 14-year old boy visiting California to attend a cousin's wedding with your bon vivant Grandpa when you accidentally meet a beautiful girl - and proceed to screw everything up. With the help of Grandpa, you must figure out how to right the wrongs and get the girl who doesn't want to be "gotten".
INFO:
- Multiple adventure possibilities
- Player chooses the storyline path
- Simple, but fun
- Anyone can play

What you've gotta do is incentivize us, like "You're offered a reward for doing ____" or less obvious, maybe just word it so it sounds like the obvious choice? Like "You think you should probably ________, but you could do ________ if you wanted."
Oooh. Solid advice, thank you so much!!
No problem, mind telling me when your next game comes out? I liked this one, curious what the next will be!
First, thank you!
And, in all honesty, I haven't even thought to try. This was a project for the game writing class in my degree program and I had no idea how complex and difficult game writing was. Massive respect for all of it now.
And in truth, since graduating, there hasn't been a ton of inspiration this year. I've heard it called Covid Brain. Some of my writing co workers and artists are struggling as well. I'm actually really beating myself up over it, as I feel I'm languishing away and not using anything I worked hard to learn.
So, there you go. A real answer. But I'd actually love to keep going.
This game idea was actually based on a real life story, lol. It all happened to a friend of mine when he missed his opportunity.
Well, if you have any more text games, I love writing, so I could help with that form of thing. I am currently working on a very long interactive fiction game, (I can't really code, so completely with twine.) about a boy who goes from tending a farm to saving the world but becoming a hated villain in the process, and also have a few other ideas. So, want inspiration? How about, for shorter things you could do "A night in the tavern." Where you are a commoner in a tavern, and one night an adventurer, or adventuring party comes, and you get to speak to them. Do they cause trouble, Or do they bring fortune? Or maybe "The trifles of an alien." Where you come to earth, and have to deal with no one trusting you after all of these alien movies have come out. Then for longer, how about "The last cities." Where you are in command of a force of either zombies or soldiers, depending on the setting, and must take over the last cities left to conquer. Finally, and idea for where you have to search for someone you met earlier in the woods. Are they a friend? An enemy? Or something else? The players actions will decide.
If you want any help with literary sections, I love writing, so I would be more than happy to have something to write about other than school subjects.
You know what? These are some awesomely inspirational ideas and I might just take you up on that. I'd love to give working on something creative a go again...even though I probably need a refresher course on how Twine works once again!

Thanks!
Love it! Very fun and interactive. When I thought I made the right moves, they were wrong! But--the fun part about the game is I can go back and start over again, learning for my mistakes!
Hahaha! Thanks for playing. I'm trying to learn the art of how to write to push players into making the wrong decisions so thanks for the feedback! :)
